The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has conferred on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, with the Golden Award of Excellence in Education, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to education and the welfare of teachers.
The award was presented during the 2025 World Teachers Day Celebration held today being October 5th at Eagle Square, Abuja.
In the spirit of felicitations, Chief Ginawula Sule Tekile extends his unreserved congratulations to the Governor for the hard-earned honour.
In his statement issued on Sunday, Chabruwa Nunguraba noted that, it's gratifying that before Fintiri's assumption in office, there was a highest number of school-aged children who were out of school, but our Governor out of his vision and genuine desire to meet masses' needs, decided from the first day in office to give priority attention to deliver the dividends of democracy through quality education mantra. There's no doubt that, he must have been driven by the wise words of the avatars, Nelson Mandela who stated that: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. And as Charles Rangel rightly noted: “A quality education grants us the ability to fight the war on ignorance and poverty”. Also, Lucio Tan said that, we can't as a country improve economically, socially, and culturally without quality education.
This award perfectly symbolizes all of your hard work and dedication to the success and grandeur of education sector in Adamawa State. Congratulations on your achievements Your Excellency, Tekile concluded.
