It is really understood by all that Facebook is the most common social media subscribed by both literate and semi-literate Nigerians.
Besides, people appear what they are or what they chose to be or even what they are not and how they don’t want to be on facebook.
Many people disguised what they are not on Facebook but may think that they are for they are not truly seen. Facebook is a place that cocoons people from what they are.
It is a story of two Facebook users who were friends on same medium for a year or two.
Maryam happens to be the lady while Ahil is the lad. The story is indeed fascinating as it goes.
One faithful evening, Ahil saw an unaccustomed greeting on his timeline. In his effort to open it, he saw the name, Maryam as his message sender.
“Aslm, friend” was the excuse she had written. He replied,”Wlkslm” as two friends sourced from Islamic tradition so they usual greeting is the most welcomed.
They open-heartedly greeted each other. Ahil thought it were over as he went ahead to be watching his short-facebook-videos.
In a few minutes away, Maryam gisted Ahil on his time line again. At this time, she demanded her friend to shift the chat from Facebook page to messenger to avoid sight of others.
Ahil accepted the proposition and followed Maryam to a messenger. They continued their discussions.
In the messenger, she asked Ahil his level of education. He told her that he had ordinary diploma in Accounting.
Ahil demanded to know about her but at this point, she lied to Ahil. She told him that she had ordinary diploma in computer science where as she had Masters in computer science.
Maryam further asked Ahil of his Family background and he told her the truth. His father died when he was finishing his secondary school. His mother took care of him with his one younger brother and a sister. He further told her that he was sponsoring his brother to have National Diploma in Computer Science. This is because Knowledge of computer pays at this era.
Maryam was very happy with his responses so she kept on giving him such leading questions to know who actually Ahil was.
Ahil as he was innocently brought up, he addressed every question she asked truly and with his heart.
Ahil was using his one-RAM Techo phone who was very slow to send a chat to his new friend. The phone stayed quite longer and there were conto cracks on the screen.
Maryam picked interest in Ahil as she knew that the answers he was given her were true. She asked him the following week as they continued their normal chats.
Maryam asked Ahil on when he was proposing to marry. At this time his ego succeeded on him. He replied to her that anytime he got a wife while he knew that he didn't have his wherewithal for marriage.
Ahil’s second fault was that he didn't tell his mother that he was chatting someone on Facebook despite that he never hid anything to his mother.
In the process, the two friends engaged in love but none of them ever asked his friend to send him a picture.
But for Maryam, was very happy when this thought didn't come for Ahil, she would enjoy chatting him without seeing each. She also thought that if Ahil knew she was from the affluent family, she might be panic and run away from her.
One day, Maryam and Ahil agreed to meet at a decided rendezvour. They decided the place and it was finally in front of Golden-Supermarket where Maryam frequently went there to make shoppings with her siblings.
They agreed to meet in the late afternoon when sun hot had reduced to the nearest minimum. Ahil came early and stood few meters away from the super market.
Maryam was droven by her personal car driver. He stopped at the side of the road and quickly moved down to open the car for Maryam to alight as the jeep glasses remained unwound. Ahil all this while was seeing them but he never expected that she would be of that type.
As her two feet landed on the surface of earth, she brought out her Apple phone to ring Ahil. And Ahil picked the call, looking at no direction in particular to catch a glimpse of his caller with great eagerness.
Maryam had already seen him but not until his attention went to her that he knew it was Maryam that came with that car.
Ahil was pretentiously running to avoid her. Then she called him by name and asked him to come close to her. When Ahil came near her driver, he genuflected to plead with her to leave him. He was saying sorry to Maryam because he didn't know she was of that type.
Maryam insisted on the love but Ahil was struggling to leave the place. That was how the story went from Facebook to face to face.
She bought a new Apple phone to her lover because she knew his parental background from the manner he was responding to her. She presented many gifts to Ahil including much money to look after his mother.
The question is… Can marriage be possible between these two lovers ?
