Today, 2 January 2026, Hon. Ginawula Sule Tekile formally resigned from his position as Chairman of the Kiri District Development Association (KDDA).
Hon. Tekile made his resignation known at the Shakrak Hotel Hall, the usual venue for the association’s annual meetings.
Those in attendance at the meeting included Amna Keri (the King of Kiri), a representative of the District Head of Kiri, the Acting District Head of Kiri East, and the District Head of Bayan-Dutse (Kem).
During the meeting, Hon. Tekile recommended Malam Sanusi Audu, who had been serving as his deputy, to assume the position of Acting Chairman pending the conduct of a formal election.
Hon. Tekile served as Chairman of KDDA for five years, during which he worked to promote unity and development across the entire district.
It will be recalled that Hon. Tekile contested for the Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency seat in the 2023 elections but stepped aside. He has now returned with renewed determination to reclaim his mandate, as he prepares to contest in the forthcoming 2027 elections for Member Representing Guyuk/Shelleng Constituency. This ambition informed his decision to resign from the chairmanship of KDDA.
He pledged his continued support for the association whenever needed and called on members and officials of KDDA to support his political aspiration.
