HON. SULE GINAWULA TEKILE AS THE EPITOME OF HUMILITY

By Adamu Hamzer Marree Talum

In politics, contestation is one thing, but creating goodwill, building relationships, and connecting with people at the grassroots level is another. Every Nigerian has the right to vote and to be voted for, which makes politics a gathering of people from different backgrounds and with different motivations.

While some people enter politics because they have the resources and means to contest elections, only a few genuinely keep the people at the heart of their political journey. Hon. Sule Ginawula Tekile is one of those few. His actions and conduct demonstrate that he consistently places his people and their welfare at the forefront.
This commitment is evident in his day-to-day activities and his willingness to remain connected with his people, both in moments of joy and in times of hardship. He does not only seek their support during elections; he stands with them when they need him most.

Today, Hon. Tekile travelled all the way to Yorong to attend the funeral of one of his people, Yayinau. At a time when many politicians and political contestants were nowhere to be seen, Hon. Tekile chose to be physically present with the bereaved family. He stayed with them, shared in their grief, offered words of comfort, and pleaded with them to remain strong during their difficult moment.
This is what genuine leadership looks like.
A leader who identifies with the people in their moments of pain is more likely to understand their challenges and work toward addressing them. You cannot truly understand the problems of your people unless you remain close to them, listen to them, and experience their realities firsthand.
Hon. Sule Ginawula Tekile's humility, compassion, and consistent connection with the grassroots are qualities worthy of recognition. His presence among the people, especially during difficult moments, is a clear indication of a man who understands that leadership is about service, empathy, and responsibility.

May Hon. Sule Ginawula Tekile continue to prosper in life and remain a source of hope and strength to his people.
Long live the spirit of humility and service.
