Hon. Ginawula Sule Tekile has officially declared his intention to recontest for the position of Member representing Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency at a dinner attended by prominent political stakeholders from Shelleng.
It will be recalled that Hon. Sule Tekile contested for the Guyuk/Shelleng House of Representatives seat in 2023. During his remarks at the dinner, which took place at his residence in Bachure, Yola, he briefed the gathering in a relaxed atmosphere on the reasons why he stepped aside in the 2023 elections and the challenges he faced at the time.
Afterward, Hon. Tekile expressed his concern over the backwardness of his constituency in areas such as education, empowerment, development, and unity. He noted that within the Guyuk/Shelleng Constituency, his name has long been well known and widely discussed.
He emphasized that his entry into politics is a rescue mission, considering the continuous and unaccountable regression the constituency suffers in all aspects of development.
Hon. Tekile warned of the danger of failing to support a single candidate ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly by the people of Shelleng. He assured his constituents of his total patriotism and reaffirmed his commitment to humanity and the promotion of unity, which he has consistently championed.
Hon. Haruna Ibrahim, popularly known as Harukana, expressed his total support for Hon. Ginawula Sule Tekile, stating that they would do everything possible to ensure the party ticket is secured in his favor.
In his remarks, Alhaji Danladi Abubakar cautioned the people of Shelleng that if they fail to speak with one voice, it may become difficult for anyone from Shelleng to invest in politics again. He called on the elders of Shelleng to invite all contestants and appeal to them to step down in favor of Hon. Tekile, noting that he has been committed to this struggle for many years.
Dr. Thomas Mamman shared similar views with the previous speakers.
The dinner concluded with group photographs, expressions of joy among the participants, and closing prayers.
Success is on our side, Insha Allah. Hon. Tekile all the way.
